Autumn in the Alps Quilt Show - October 2, 2010

Cabin Fever Retreat - February 5-7, 2010

Welcome! The Thursday Night Strippers (TNS) were formed in 2001 to provide a forum for quilt lovers with day jobs who need to meet in the evening. We enjoy fellowship, recreation and instruction while enhancing the well-being of our community through charitable works.

Meetings are held each Thursday night at 5:00 PM at the Textile Traditions Quilt Shop at 555-C Main Street in Weaverville, California. (During the winter we meet earlier in the day) Come by and visit, we hope you will join us. Membership in the TNS is open to anyone who loves the textile arts and helping others with their time and talents. We are not limited to quilters, and those who enjoy other needle arts are most welcome. Dues are $10 per year for adults, Junior Memberships (under 18) are free of charge.

Quilt Show The Thursday Night Strippers organize the Autumn in the Alps Quilt Show, the largest outdoor quilt shows in Far Northern California. Each year in October we host this show to feature the quilters art and bring visitors to our lovely town. This show, currently in its 9th year, is growing and each year provides additional activities and attractions. Join us and help the Quilt Show grow-visit the Quilt Show Website for more information.

Activities TNS creates a raffle quilt each year, proceeds from the quilt raffle are used to support a variety of charitable causes within Trinity County. This year's quilt may be seen at local events and will be featured at the Quilt Show--your ticket purchase helps support our community! Comfort quilts are created and distributed to families within our community who are facing challenges--quilts provide material evidence of our caring and provide warmth & comfort to the recipients.

Educational opportunities are provided by sharing our skills and knowledge with each other and occasional presentations and workshops by visiting quilters. The guild attends a Guild Retreat on the coast each August to work on projects and quilt show details while escaping the heat. New for 2010 is a TNS sponsored Cabin Fever Retreat for all the guilds of Trinity County and neighboring areas. This is a great opportunity for members of the guilds to get together and sew while learning new skills and improving communication between groups.

Fun is a big part of our group! Some meetings are devoted to games and birthdays are a great chance to enjoy goodies and good company. Other activities, such as fabric shopping trips and carpooling to quilt shows are scheduled as needed.
