Annual Guild Member's Retreat - Each August

Each August the Thursday Night Strippers Quilt Guild escapes the heat and gets together for a weekend of quilting fun on the cool coast. A members-only activity, we bring our projects and get some serious work done while having some serious fun!

Each member shares a demo of a new technique while we enjoy cool breezes, ocean views and lots of great food. Besides quilting, we also indulge in a Arcata/Eureka shop hop and some time on the beach. Occasionally a "mystery" guest will show up to teach a special block or technique. Some members add to the relaxing atmosphere by staying in their pajamas all day!

By sharing costs and meals the cost is kept within reason so that all members can attend. As the quilt show approaches, the work for members increases and this retreat was developed as a reward for all the hard work guild members do for the annual Autumn in the Alps Quilt Show. Some members report that this is the most rewarding quilting activity they have ever participated in!

The Strippers loved this event so much, they are now hosting a retreat for ALL the quilters of Trinity County each winter--the Cabin Fever Retreat. Open to anyone, this retreat provides three days of quilting fun with no housework, cooking or dishes to interfere with your productivity.
