Rocking Horse Quilt

Designed, appliqued & Embellished by Joy Graner, Additional applique, borders & hand quilted by Nancy Kline
Owned by Nancy Kline & Joy Graner

"My mother, Joy Graner began this quilt top in the 1960's, made from scraps of her childrens' clothes. It was misplaced and lost for over 30 years. It was found in 1998 and the top was given to her daughter, Nancy, for Christmas. Nancy had never made a quilt, and put it away until 2008. Determined to finish the quilt, Nancy joined a quilt guild who helped her complete it. Tthough her first quilt, she entered it in the Trinity County Fair and won a blue ribbon. Her activities were a secret to her mother Joy. Nancy took Joy to the fair, and surprised her with the completed quilt. This heartwarming story was featured in the Trinity Journal newspaper."
