Breakfast Club - Quilt of the Month, Starts May 18
Need more fiber in your life? Join our Breakfast Club!
I'm hearing that you want to use up some of that expansive stash,
so lets do it! Our scrap happy program in winter 2009 was a hit--we
each turned a box of scraps into fun, scrappy quilts (I got 5
quilts out of my scraps!) This time we will make runners and quilts
from strips! These quilts are great for gifts and comfort quilts
and makes effcient use of those fabrics you loved, bought, but
now need to do something with.
Its easy to do--bring in a box of scraps/stash. We will cut them
into 2 1/2 inch strips, then get ready to create!. Each month
I will teach you a new quilt design made from strips--the possiblities
are endless. In addition to quilts, we will also have some patterns
for table runners and bags for variety.
But wait, there's more! In order to get in the mood for quilt
making, we will meet at a local restaurant to have breakfast together.
We meet at a different restaurant each month--a great way to sample
the local fare. The breakfast meeting is completely optional,
but I think you will find it alot of fun.
Meetings will be held at 10AM on the 3rd Tuesday of each month
starting May 26 and will go until November. Those who want to
join me at breakfast will meet at 9AM at the chosen restaurant.
Cost of the program is only $5 per session and you will receive
a new pattern each month (breakfast is on your own). We will work
on the month's pattern together until Noon to make sure you have
all the techniques you need to create the quilt. If you come to
all the meetings, you can create 7 quilted gifts by Christmas!
