Block of the Month

We love history! When you make a quilt, you are making history. The work of your hands will be cherished by future generations of your family and friends.

Our block of the month programs are based on historic block patterns from periods of American History. Do it like Grandma did and make a family heirloom using our patterns and great reproduction fabrics.

"New Deal" 1930's Block of the Month

This BOM is completed--thanks for all of our members who supported this project and the quilt show by participating. Designed by Thursday Night Stripper's Janet Taylor, Vicky Vallieres and Sherry Klootwick. We are currently redesigning this quilt as a pattern book--watch for it this fall!

NEW! Pieceful Nights Block of the Month by Lori Smith

We love this quilt! Designer Lori Smith of "From My Heart to Your Hands" is well known for her lovely adaptions of historic quilt designs. This quilt features delectable 1800's reproduction fabrics by Windham Fabrics, Marcus Brothers and Henry Glass.

This BoTM offers quilters a challenge, but with Lori's clear directions and helpful diagrams even a novice quilter will be able to complete the 10" blocks (while learning some great new techniques). This is a large quilt, depending on the setting style your choose, 64" x 64" to 46" x 72". A dandy pouch for storing your patterns will be provided to each participant.

With each monthly packet you will get not only fabrics and directions, but a suggested layout for completing the quilt (12 different options in all). The pattern for the central medallion setting shown on this page is included as well.

Membership in this program is limited, so register soon to reserve your space. This program will be limited to 25 participants. Cost of this BOM is $13.95 per block or $11.95 per block if paid in advance ($140 plus tax). Pick up your blocks on or after the 2nd Saturday of each month. Pick up your blocks on the day they are released and join the "Block Party" with 15% off your favorite item.

Sunflower Garden

This cheery Block of the Month Quilt is as warm and sunny as a Kansas Summer! Made from "Full Sun" fabrics by Maywood, this quilt features elegant colorways printed with sunflowers. This nine-month BoTM program is a Textile Traditions exclusive, created by designer Victoria Vallieres. Vicky lives right here in Trinity County and is influenced by her love of traditional quilt design.

Starting in Winter 2009, you will enjoy working with these sunny colors and lovely florals. Join the fun and get some winter "fabric therapy".
